
Suzanne Pleshette, born 31 January 1937, and died 19 January 2008 was an American film theatre, television, and voice actress. Pleshette started her stage career and appeared in films in late 1950s. Then, she became an actor of note in films like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). In later years, she was a part of several television productions and was often a guest actor. She played Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show, 1972-1978 in which she earned numerous Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City on the 31st of January in 1937. Her parents were Jewish as were the children of immigrants from Russia, Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer. Her father was stage director for the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, as well as the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
